FOTD #3 || Casual Sunday

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! It seems like ages since I last did one of these type of posts but I thought I'd take the chance to show you a few new products and some old favourites that I've been loving at the moment before school tomorrow.  I usually spend most of Sunday thinking about how early I'll have to wake up the next day! Playing around with makeup looks, watching YouTube and meeting friends usually cheers me up! Today I thought I'd go for quite a natural look and use Soap and Glory's Glow All Out powder which I bought recently.

Products Used
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Light
Soap and Glory's Glow All Out Luminizing Radiance Face Powder
Bobbi Brown Everything Mascara
Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake*
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and Blush Brush

What makeup have you been wearing lately?

p.s. please excuse my odd facial expression above, me and cameras don't mix too well!

Natural Collection Nudes

Coral Shimmer and Rose Petal
Hello everyone, hope you're all well! Now if anyone's looking for a bargain, Natural Collection's the way to go. With their most expensive products costing a whole £1.99, it's hard to complain! Their lipsticks are only something I've recently delved into and overall I've been pretty impressed. Lately I've been really into nude lipsticks (see post) and thought I'd do a quick review of my favourites.
First up we have Coral Shimmer, which as the name would suggest is a shimmery coral! This is definitely a my-lips-but-better shade and would suit most skin tones. The shimmer show in the tube barely transpires onto the lips and instead leaves a slightly glossy finish. This lasts reasonably well and is easy to reapply without looking patchy!
(I don't know why my hair looks like straw in this picture, it was slightly wet!)
Next, my favourite, Rose Petal. This is a gorgeous pinky nude that just glides on to the lips and rivals the quality of MAC. This looks perfect paired with a neutral smokey eye and plumy autumn cheeks! The finish is slightly different than Coral Shimmer as I find it to be slightly matte and less hydrating.

All in all this post has proved to me that the price of the lipstick doesn't matter, £1.99 or £15! Which is your favourite lipstick for under a fiver?

My Everyday Makeup Bag || The Contents of My Face

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! I'm currently writing this whilst sipping on a hot chocolate and snuggled in my slanket (best not to ask), two signs that Autumn has well and truly arrived! Now for today's post I thought I'd show you the current contents of my makeup bag, A.K.A my face. These posts are some of my favourite to read along with makeup collections and the sort. It's always nice to have a little nosey and see what people are currently loving enough to use on a daily basis! This bag gets switched up every now and again and extremely subtle makeup is needed during school term hence the lack of bronzer and liquid eyeliner.

Firstly I take a small amount of the Porefessional and pat it around my nose and the centre of my face. This is great at minimizing the appearance of pores as well as creating a smooth base for foundation to be applied upon. In terms of getting your makeup to last longer however, I have never noticed a considerable difference. I then move on to the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum which has extremely light coverage and is perfect for school. When blended with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush it creates a very natural, skin like feel. If I have any blemishes to cover I will always reach for the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer which everyone and their cat's best friend blogs on about so I'll leave it there. To finish off my base, I dust some MUA Pressed Powder around my face, focusing on my t-zone. If I was going to school I'd curl my lashes, apply some Soap and Glory A Great Kisser Lip Balm* and be off.

During the weekend however, I like to apply a bit more makeup. Topshop's cream blush in Head Over Heels is a gorgeous coral that brightens up the dullest of complexions. For the eyes I usually blend Maybelline's Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze all over the lid, smudge Jack Wills Black Eyeliner in my upper water line and use two coats of They're Real mascara for a fuller lash effect. I've been loving MAC Creme Cup lately which is the perfect accompany to a casual weekend makeup look.

Thanks for reading! What's in your makeup bag?

Review || Topshop False Lash Mascara

One Coat
Hello everyone, hope you're all well! Now as you may (or most probably may not) know I'm a big fan of the Topshop makeup line, particularly their lipsticks and cream blushes which are much hyped about in the blogging world. However being a loyal Maybelline mascara wearer, Topshop's lash lengthening offerings never really caught my eye. At least that was until one shopping trip, in the midst of the sales, where the last items of clothing should have never been produced! I decided to head over to the makeup stand only to discover False Lash, which would later turn out to be my dream mascara. Cheesy, I know.
The formula is what really wins this mascara for me. Although the wand is nothing special, the mascara grips to my lashes, effectively volumising without the look of clumps or spiders legs (please no). The mascara doesn't fall or smudge throughout the day which is another plus. Packaging wise I can't fault Topshop, it's just so darn cute! Being priced at £10 this is slightly more expensive than my usual mascaras but I would say this is very comparable to Benefit's They're Real (when two coats applied) so justifiable!

Overall I really enjoy wearing this and would recommend it to anyone looking for volume from their mascara! Have you tried any Topshop Makeup?

p.s. thank you so much to the lovely ladies who have nominated me for a Liebster award over the past month or so. I found the posts were getting quite repetitive so have decided I wont be doing anymore (hope you understand), and instead be doing more exciting reviews and OOTDs!

A Week in Cornwall

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! Sorry for not posting much over the past few days, first week back at school and I've already got exams, controlled assessments and plenty of homework to look forward to! Anyway, a couple of weeks ago we ventured down to Southern Cornwall (around Helford for anyone familiar) for a family holiday. I managed to get a few pretty pictures and thought it the perfect opportunity to write a lifestyle post as those are always my favourite kind.

One of the first places we went to was Trebah Gardens, near Helford River, which was full of beautiful flowers (as you'd expect), secret paths and overlooked a gorgeous sandy beach. The place was very busy so it was hard to get photos without random people wondering in front of the lens!

There were also a few little places to eat in the Helford village including the Down by the Riverside Café which was a great stop for a slice of cake or two and a whimsical, beautifully decorated pub named the Shipwrights Arms which had a magical view on looking the Helford river.

I hope you enjoyed reading a slightly different type of post! Have you ever been to Cornwall?

Weekly Wishlist #4 || Make Mine Asos and Giveaway Winner

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! As some of you may know I'm a massive Topshop fanatic and rarely delve into the realms of any other brands.  However, ASOS offer a lot and whilst you can't go in store, the amount of clothes, accessories and makeup is often overwhelming! So I decided for this week's wishlist to put a very small selection of some lovely items I found that have been calling my name to buy them. The bag in particular is my favourite (not Zoella inspired at all)!

Also, congratulations to Katy from The Rawdrobe for winning my giveaway and thanks to everyone that entered!

My Most Worn Nude Lipsticks

Ahh, the nude lip. Any lipstick lovers like myself will have a small rather large collection of nude lippies that compliment different makeup looks and outings. I've never been a fan of the 'concealer lip' - MAC Fleshpot I'm looking at you- so my nude lipsticks tend to be more pink, peach or brown toned. The ease and simplicity of a nude lip can never be overestimated and today I thought I'd share my three favourites.
From L-R: Adore U, Creme Cup and Strawberry Shortcake.

Strawberry Shortcake by Revlon

First up we have the Revlon lip butter in Strawberry Shortcake*, more of a pink than a nude but I let it fall into this category all the same. I would say this is quite a blue toned, makes your teeth look whiter, kind of lipstick- always a bonus! The whole Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter range are extremely moisturising and comfortable to wear whilst packing medium pigmentation and easy application. Yep, Strawberry Shortcake ticks every box!

 Available from Boots and Superdrug.
 Adore U by Clinique
When someone says Clinique, lipstick isn't usually my first thought. Great skincare and bottom lash mascara yes, but lipstick? No. However that all changed when I tried Adore U from the Colour Surge Butter Shine lipstick range (what a mouthful). This is a gold-y, brown-y toned nude with shimmer, not something I usually go for but does translate well on the lips. Perfect with a smokey eye and fair skin, Adore U lands pretty highly on my nude lippie rankings.

Available from Clinique.
Creme cup by MAC
Last but not least is perhaps one of the most highly talked about nude lipsticks in the blogging world, Creme Cup. One of MAC's Cremesheen formulas, this provides a subtle hint of pink whilst keeping your lips hydrated and is great for day to day lipstick wearing. I've been swiping it non stop since buying it only a couple of weeks ago and it has quickly become one of my favourite lipsticks (and that's saying something)!

Available from the MAC Website.

I hope you're all enjoying your weekend! What are your favourite nude lipsticks?

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! Today's just been a day for pottering and making the most of the summer weather before Autumn arrives, bringing black tights along with it. The jumper is one my mum bought me for Christmas a few years ago, I love the beautiful grey along with the velvet collar. I would never have thought to pair it with the yellow skirt but, hey, I think it works. I'm also going to try and do more outfit posts over the next few months as Autumn and Winter are definitely my favourite and most beautiful times of the year!

The Dream Dressing Table || Ideas and Inspiration

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! Recently I decided to do up my old dressing table, which still has crayon marks from when I used to use it as a desk when I was younger along with weird scratches and mascara smudges. It needed an overhaul! Of course I headed straight to weheartit and tumblr for some ideas and inspiration as well as having a flick through some of my favourite blogs to see any home decor posts they have in their archives. Below are a selection of some of the wonderful images I found which I hope help anyone looking to add a touch of sparkle to their dressing table!
weheartit.com

zoella.co.uk and weheartit.com

Fairy lights are a dressing tables best friend, no dressing table is complete without them! I love the cream rose lights which can make a plain mirror look magical and the floral bunting intertwined with the simple fairy lights is very unique and suits a more modern table.

Belles-Boutique

Would you like a cup of tea with that? Laura's gorgeous hairband storage is definitely something I would love to incorporate onto my own dressing table!

weheartit.com and zoella
tumblr.com

I don't have a vast jewellery collection but keeping rings and bracelets in little china dishes is such a beautiful way of displaying them!

 LiveLaughLipstick and Couture Girl

I own a lot less makeup than Georgina or Kayleigh but I love the way they store their products, how it's clearly partitioned and easy to use! Dressing Table draws are also a great place to keep the stash!

 zoella

I currently keep my lipsticks in Soap and Glory body butter tubs but using old tins is a lovely idea. Zoe's vintage storage is very enviable!

Right, I better get decorating!

Where do you go for dressing table inspiration?
