Oh I Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday

Ho Ho Ho! Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year and it just wouldn't be right if I didn't share a snippet of my day here on my little blog. Presents were unwrapped and food was eaten before I had a chance to take any photos but I think the pictures above are an accurate representation of  my Christmas. I hope you all had a magical Christmas filled with chocolate *nibbles on gold coin*, festive films, slipper socks (a must) and spending time with your family.

Merry Christmas!

W7 In The Buff Eye Colour Palette || Naked 2 Dupe

Aah, the Naked 2 palette. Arguably one of the most coveted  products in the blogging world that never fails to gain a positive review from each new owner. The fact that I don't own it and now feel no need to is all down to a palette I discovered only a few weeks ago, the W7 In The Buff Eye Colour Palette. Having read many a beauty blog, I've seen countless swatches of the Naked 2 which appears very similar to the W7 In the Buff despite it only being a fraction of the price at £4.99. The packaging and layout also have little difference, would you believe. Intrigued yet?
From Left - Right: Buff, Camel, Sand, Dust, Chocolate and Topaz (Same Below).

From Left - Right: Earth, Storm, Silk, Wave, Thunder and Onyx (Same below).
Silk all over the lid with Chocolate and Camel in the outer third and Sand in the inner corner.

Buff and Sand (the two lighter colours) do not have as pigmentation as the others, particularly Buff which is matte. However the darker shimmers (particularly Thunder and Dust) are a lot less chalky and transfer well. Both Onyx and Chocolate are also matte and would work well lining the eye or in the crease.

Overall I think this set of Natural Nudes is a must have for anyone who wants the Naked 2 but without the price tag and is perfect for the Christmas season. Available from The Cosmetics House.

December in Paris

Bonjour!

Although I've been to Disneyland a few times before I've never actually spent time in the city of Paris. On Saturday we took a day trip to visit all the sites Paris has to offer, eat many crepes (chocolate of course) and admire the Christmas lights come evening. For lunch we stopped of at a little traditional restaurant named Cremerie Restaurant Polidor and then ventured on to the Musée d'Orsay. As someone who reads many a blog, picking up some cheaper French skincare was an essential and on every street corner there was another pharmacy filled to the brim with Bioderma, La Roche-Posay, Vichy and more. We only saw the Eiffel Tower from a distance but it was much taller than I expected and something I'd probably like to walk up if I ever go again. In the park (where the last two photos were captured) there was a lovely sense of admiration to the wonderful architecture and pathways of trees that even the birds seemed to be dancing.

Now if you don't mind I'm off to crack open a bottle of Bioderma. Cotton pads anyone?

Meeting Fleur De Force

Today there is no time for my usual greeting as my happiness needs to be transferred into words before I shatter into a thousand over excited pieces. Whilst at the Clothes Show Live on Friday I bumped into the lovely, beautiful Fleur. It was such a surreal moment seeing her in the flesh after watching her videos for such a long time and I quite embarrassingly gushed at how much I loved them. Fleur was one of the first beauty YouTubers I ever subscribed to and her blog inspired me to start writing here. I know they say that you should never meet your 'idols' in real life, but Fleur is definitely an exception.

The Primark Pyjama

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! Today's post is going to be all about the snuggly, cosy and Christmassy item that is a pair of Primark pyjamas. Each year Primark release the fleece-like bottoms which are the perfect accompaniment to slipper socks, and at only £5 a complete bargain. I opted for the blue with penguins and snowflakes (why ever not?) and think I'll be going back for a pair in red whenever Primark is calling again. As it's really starting to get cold this are perfect for lounging around the house, watching Christmas movies and making hot chocolate in. Oh, and of course sleeping!

Have you picked up a pair?

A Christmas Chit Chat

Happy December! I'm sat here writing this with a Fig scented candle burning, fairy lights on and two doors of my advent calendar open. This means only one thing, Christmas. The most wonderful time of the year filled with slipper socks and hot chocolate. This little corner of the web has been pretty quiet over the past few weeks but I'm hoping that during the Christmas holidays I can start posting regularly again. I've got a lot of festive ideas and photos so I just need the time to sit down and type. I would also recommend that you grab a mince pie and pop on your Christmas jumper, you know, so that you can feel all festive.

This Christmas is the last one I'll be getting to meet up with all my friends as we're all going to separate colleges come September. This means I want to spend as much time as I can with everyone, which definitely involves shopping. Christmas shopping. Most hate it, others (like myself) very much enjoy it. What I love the most though, is buying all the presents, coming home and wrapping each present up with their own little bow and label. It's the little things.

Lately I've adored reading Olivia's blog whilst being curled up next to the fire with my cat. Her photography alone would lead me to follow her blog but what makes me a regular reader is her beautiful writing style. I've also got lots of festive ideas for my room after Zoe's latest video, which I watched accompanied by a peppermint tea. The various vlogmases also excites me very much, would you believe! And I don't think I could do a whole blog post without expressing my excitement for the return of Sherlock on New Year's Day.

This. Christmas. Is. Going. To. Be. Fabulous.

Review || The Porefessional by Benefit

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! Sorry my blog seems to have taken a bit of a back seat at the moment, I seem to be having exam after controlled assessment after exam and I guess school work comes first. The ol' camera seems to have decided to go on it's own adventure and may not return for a few days so I'm digging out photos I took weeks ago. Anyway, today I thought I'd talk about one of my favourite primers, the Porefessional. It's obviously not a new release but as I love it so much I felt it needed it's own little spot on my blog!
Before I bought this in the summer I had my eye on it for about a year and finally made the purchase when I was up in Manchester. I have combination oily skin which also means I have larger pores and makes makeup application and wearability a nightmare. Cue Benefit the Porefessional. Benefit describe it as a 'PRO balm to minimize the appearance of pores,' which I couldn't agree with more. The silky finish is unlike anything else I've tried and definitely makes my skin appear smoother. The Porefessional doesn't claim to allow my makeup to last for longer (and doesn't) which is something I do look for in a primer and the only let down. However with a good foundation, think Bourjois Healthy Mix, and powder this works well. For the price (£24.50) I'm not sure if it'll be a repurchase though. Thus the quest for the perfect primer continues...

What is you favourite primer? Any recommendations?

Currently Lusting || Beauty Expert Picks

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! As a big fan of the website Beauty Expert I thought I'd make a little wish list of all the many products I'm currently lusting after. Lately I've been a lot more into my skincare and Beauty Expert offers a huge range of cleansers, face masks, serums, gift sets... you get the jist. They also have a beauty guide so if you have any specific problems, such as oily skin or redness, there is plenty of information. Not only is there great skincare but plenty of makeup as well. Pixi is brand I've been meaning to try for a while and I've only heard positive reviews about their blushers. The Real Techniques travel essentials kit is also something I've had my eye on but struggled to find.

I feel that online Beauty has progressed a lot in the past few years and sites like Beauty Expert are spot on with the customer needs!

What have you been lusting after lately?

What's In My Handbag?

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! Recently it struck me that in the six months that I've been writing this little blog I've never done a 'What's In My Handbag' style post. I absolutely love being nosey and seeing the bits and bobs people carry around with them and have read countless posts of this kind. So I thought, 'Hey, why not?' It's not often you can have a peek around inside someone else's bag without them thinking you're trying to steal something!
First things first, my bag is from Primark and was super cheap at the price of £10. Whilst not the sturdiest of its kind, it does the job well and with it being black, goes with most outfits. Inside my bag I carry my Disaster Designs purse, which is great as it has loads of different compartments. Soap and Glory's Hand Food is amazing and great for dry, winter mitts. I also take my Ted Baker makeup bag which I fill with all my makeup essentials (full post). Next up are some random hair bands and a cute Accessorize packet of tissues. My house key is also something I put in my bag. I use my MAC Creme Cup lipstick so often that I always carry it around with me and of course I bring my phone.

What are in your handbags?

Review || Catrice Cosmetics Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! Hold your horses Ladies and Gents but I think that I've finally got a blogging schedule! I'm planning on posting on a Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with the occasional post here and there. With lots of exams coming up I don't want to neglect my blog so I need to be organised and maybe plan in advance for once. Anyway, today's post is going to be a little review of the Catrice Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette* which I won in Molly's giveaway recently.
Unfortunately the eyeshadows don't have names so I've numbered them from 1 through to 6. I'd also like to point out that the accompanying brush is much better than I would expect but I still prefer Real Techniques!
Shade 1 works wonders as a highly pigmented, shimmery-but-not-sparkly, inner corner highlight or blended over the inner third of the lid. For an all over base colour, shade 2 works well, although I think it would have been better matte. Shade 3 is a deep warmed tone brown in the pan although doesn't transfer as well onto the skin.
An alternative all over the lid colour would be shade 4 which works well with shade 5 in the outer third.  For real eyeball eyelid definition shade 6 transfers really well and is easy to blend.

Overall for only €5 this really is a bargain palette and something I would recommend buying if you can get your hands on one!

Thanks Molly!

Not Crying on Sundays

Jumper-Topshop || Jeans-Topshop || Boots-Oasis || Coat-Primark || Brooch-Local Boutique

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! As autumn is officially upon us I thought I might as well do another outfit post in the midst of the fallen leaves. This is quite a simple and easy outfit, I love wearing this coat as it makes me feel all warm and snuggly. I've also gone for a dark lip in MUA's Shade 01 and nails in Essie's Luxedo*. During this time of year I feel winter boots are a must and work well with jeans.

Now if you don't mind me I'm off to have a hot chocolate! What have you been wearing this autumn?
