Liebster Award

I was fortunate enough to come home from school yesterday and see that the lovely Paula had nominated me for a Liebster award!

 

The Rules:

You must link the person who nominated you.
You must answer the 10 Liebster questions given to you by the nominee.

Here are my answers to Paula's questions:

What are the best and worst foundations you have ever used and why?
As I've been wearing makeup less than a year I haven't had the opportunity to try many foundations however one of the best I've tried is the Bourjois Healthy Mix serum. I have done a full review which you can see HERE. One of the worst I have ever tried has to be Natural Collection's tinted moisturiser. What. Was. I. Thinking. Let's just say it was slightly orange...

What is your favourite nail polish brand and why?
Probably Topshop! The formula is really long lasting on my nails, the colour range is great and the packaging is gorgeous!

 Are you a drug store girl or high end?
About 90% of my makeup is drugstore (I feel so American saying that!) and I think most of my favourite products are from there! Occasionally I will splurge on YSL or MAC but all in all I prefer drugstore.
 
 What is your favourite cosmetic brand and why?
My favourite makeup brand is Topshop (surprise surprise)! The quality is far beyond the price and I think there range of lip products is great!

 How many blog posts, do you post a week?

I try to do a post once a day, but it ends up to be about five times a week.

 

 Who is your favourite beauty you tuber/guru and why?

I love Zoella, although let's be honest, who doesn't? I've been reading her blog for about a year and watching her videos for about 8 months. Her posts are very original and she is probably the only blogger that I will read EVERY post she does.

 

 The best and worst thing about blogging and why?

I love blogger twitter chats! I participate in the #fblchat and #bbloggers chat and its great to find ways to improve your blog. One of the best parts of blogging so far was when I got my first follower and she left a really nice comment on my blog. It just lifted my spirits and made me really motivated!

 

Without trying to be negative, the worst thing is probably people asking for 'follow for a follow' or similar. I usually will click on the link of a commenter but when they comment things like that I don't bother. I'd rather have 5 followers who actually enjoyed reading my blog than 1000 who only followed because I followed them.  

 

 Which beauty regime do you find to be a chore and why? 

Probably plucking my eyebrows! It hurts and you have to be precise!

 

 If you could work for one cosmetic brand, which would you choose and why?

I'd probably chose Soap and Glory as I think they have a fantastic range of products which I've been buying for years. Their cosmetic range is brilliant and they just seem like such a lovely brand to work for.

 

 What is your favourite shade of lipstick?

Definitely a tough one, but I'm probably going to have to say Corail Incandescent by YSL in the Rouge Volupte Shine range. It's a gorgeous red-y coral and I've done a full review which you can read HERE.

Tag || If I had £50

Hey everyone, hope you're all well! I was tagged to do this post by the lovely Emily from Freckles and Flaws (you can see her post HERE). I hadn't heard of this tag before and I thought it sounded quite fun, so decided to give it a go!

Here are the rules:

1. Pick a shop any shop. Whatever that shop is you have £50 to spend. Pick whatever you want. (Clothing shops may not work as well because sometimes it costs £50 for one thing)

Even though the rules said a clothes shop wasn't the best choice, I've decided to pick Topshop, mainly looking at their jewellery, accessories and of course their makeup!

 

1.Lipstick in Brighton Rock- £8.00

I have seen countless reviews of this and, I'm telling you, I NEED this in my life.

2.Cord and tube collar necklace- £16.50

I've been wanting a necklace this style for absolutely ages! I think it would make a simple tee or dress look amazing!

 

3.Hexagon metal framed sunnies- £18

They're hexogen- who doesn't want a pair of hexagon shaped sunglasses?

 

4.Eye duo in Woodland Walk- £8

Brown and gold are my eye shadow colours of choice, this looks like it would be a great buy although I haven't seen any other reviews of it in the blogosphere.

I've gone 50p over, can you ever forgive me *sobs*? I just couldn't resist those glasses*sobs again*, it's just this addiction I have with Topshop! Anyway, this was so much fun to do and I'd love you all to have ago (please leave a comment with your link so I can check it out).

20 Facts About Me

1. I love marmite.

2.I also love chocolate.

3. I hate having pictures taken of myself.  I think I've taken more pictures of myself in the last few months that I've been blogging than in the past five years, including that rather interesting one above.

4. Watching Youtube and reading blogs takes up a considerable amount of my time .

5. My favourite colour is yellow.

6. I am very shy when I first meet people but, if you ask my friends, you'll know that I can become more confident and slightly odd as I get to know you.

7. I have a slight obsession with Topshop lipsticks.

8. I know they say your eyebrows should be sisters not twins, but seriously, mine are distant cousins!

9. I am 5ft 6.

10. At the moment I am studying for my GCSEs and am taking Maths, English lit, English lang, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, RE, History, Drama, Latin and French.

11. My top three makeup brands are Benefit, MAC and Topshop.

12. I love reading books and one my favourite authors is Jane Austen.

13. Zoella is one of my all time favourite bloggers/youtubers and I love flicking through her old posts and videos.

14. When I go to Shakeaway I order a Dave (thank you for recommending Flo).

15.  My favourite song is Wings by Macklemore.

16.  I often wonder why superglue doesn't stick to the inside of the tube.

17. Oreo's are my favourite biscuit.

Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag

I saw the beautiful Belle from Mascara and Malteasers ( see blog post) do this tag and I thought it would be fun as I usually mentally answer along when reading other posts anyway. If any of you have done this tag I would love to read it, just link it below!

Gluttony- What brand makes up the most of your collection?
Topshop! If you've read any of my previous posts you'll have probably already guessed this. I love how affordable and fantastic it is.

Greed- What is your most expensive beauty item? 

I'm more of a drugstore girl so this kit from benefit (review here) is probably my most costly item at £28.50.

Sloth- Which product do you neglect the most due to laziness?
I'm probably going to have to say eyeshadow. On a day to day basis, I just don't wear it. Although when I do, I love it!

Wrath- Which item do you have a love/hate relationship with?
Liquid eyeliner. I just can't apply it well at all. I love the look of it on but it just takes ages for me to do it! 

 

 

Pride- Which beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

As I have quite red pigmentation, foundation makes me feel more confident. If your skin looks good, the rest of your makeup will just fall into place (unless you do eyeliner like me).

 

 

Lust-  Which item is at the top of your beauty wishlist?

At the moment I'd probably have to say the new Benefit kit 'Do the bright thing', I'm going to a Benefit counter later this week so ...

 

Envy- Which makeup product looks great on others but not on you?

I think I will have to agree with Belle on this one and say bright eyeshadow. Suits Tanya Burr but I can hardly say the same for myself.
