NOTD #11 || MUA's Koala Bear and A Touch of Sparkle

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! When MUA released their Essie inspired £1 polishes I was desperate to try them however only last week did I actually get round to wearing Koala Bear which had been sitting in my collection for months. As grey can get quite boring I also opted for an accent nail and lots of glitter (who doesn't love a bit of glitter)!
From L-R: Topshop's Pillar Box || Urban Outfitter's Pick and Mix || MUA's Koala Bear
As Koala Bear was only £1 my expectations weren't particularly high, but I was pleasantly surprised! In the picture above I have four coats and although that sounds like a lot it dried very quickly, so they didn't take a very long time to paint. The polish also lasted five days completely chip free and I'll definitely be purchasing more from this range! I also might add that Pick and Mix by Urban Outfitters was easy to apply and gave a good load of glitter!

Koala Bear is available from most Superdrugs.

NOTD #10 || Orange Your Life by Rimmel

Hello everyone, hope you're all well and enjoying your weekend! Today I thought I would talk to you about a nail polish I can only describe as a neon, 'can't stop looking at me' wonder. Rather cheesy name aside, this polish is one I have rediscovered this summer and really been loving. You may (or most probably may not) remember a post I did a few weeks ago featuring a peachy colour from the same range which lasted a whopping seven days chip-free! However this shade, although I prefer the colour, chipped and flaked within the first two days and was more gloopy to apply. This doesn't overly concern me as it takes very little time to dry, so top ups were easy!

Have you tried anything from this range?

NOTD #9 || Flying Saucer by Topshop

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! Today's post features a nail polish that I've absolutely been loving over the past few weeks. Flying Saucer is a gorgeous pastel purple which is definitely suited to the spring and summer!
Formulation wise, this lasted fantastically well on my usually chipped nails. The polish was easy to apply and dried quickly, creating a glossy, opaque nail. I've really been loving Topshop nail polishes lately and will definitely be picking some more to add to my collection!

NOTD #8 || Tangy Tangerine by Rimmel

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! Todays nails feature peachy Tangy Tangerine #705 from the Rimmel 'I Heart Lasting Finish Collection', and well, let's just say, I may have found a new love. Now, it's not as if I have never worn a Rimmel polish before, just not in a while. And boy I'm wondering why I ever stopped! When I say this lasted seven days chip free, I really mean it! That is more than my beloved Topshop polishes! The brush is wide, allowing easy application, and the formulation dries quickly, which meant the three coats needed for an opaque colour took next to know time! I already have a few in my collection but I'll definitely be picking up some more next time I'm in Boots.

Which polishes have you been loving so far this Summer? Have you tried any from this collection?

NOTD #7 || Geography Teacher by Topshop

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! Before we get started I'd just like to say a huge thank you to each and every reader of my blog as on Wednesday I hit 50 Bloglovin' followers! This maybe a small amount to some but to me it means the world especially as I've been blogging for such a short period of time! (Now the soppy bit's over, let's begin!)
I always feel sad for an unnamed nail varnish or lipstick but this has to be one of the best nail polish names I have ever heard or seen of, non?
Geography Teacher is a unique caramel colour which takes two coats to create an opaque glossy nail. The formula of all Topshop polishes are fantastic and this lasted four days completely chip free and six days before any extreme chipping occurred. Priced at only £5, this is extremely affordable and definitely worth the money!
Have you tried any of the Topshop nail polishes? Which shades do you recommend?

NOTD #6 || Island Coral by Sinful Colours

I recently one Island Coral in a blog giveaway and I have to admit that I'm having a love affair with the colour. As the name would suggest, it is a gorgeous pink-y coral shade that is opaque within three coats. For the price you're obviously not getting Essie quality, but this has lasted a good three days on my nails and I haven't noticed any major chipping yet. Overall, I'm really liking Sinful Colours and will definitely be picking up some more, considering they're only £1.99.

NOTD #5 || HedKandi Beach Party by Models Own

Unfortunately the lighting didn't quite catch how bright and neon this colour is.

Today I felt like fluorescent nails. They're not something I usually go for but the particular colour of this polish caught my eye. The finish is matte (although I used a glossy top coat in the picture above), the colour long wearing and the formulation makes it easy to apply. I'm definitely going to pick some more of the Models Own polishes up next time I'm in Boots. The shade in particular is so bright, and Ladies and gentlemen when you find yourself staring at your nails all day, you know that you just may have found your favourite summer colour!

Have you tried any of the Models Own polishes? Which is your favourite?

The Best of May || Beauty

I hope your having a nice day and getting back into the swing of things after an extra long weekend. Part two of the favourites (you can read part one here) is about all things beauty related. There have been many great items that I have been loving this month however I managed to get it down to just 5 products. Hope you enjoy!

If you read a NOTD I did earlier this month, you would recognise this next polish. Pillar Box is a gorgeous red, suitable for any occasion!

This mascara from Benefit has become my new favourite. Oh how have we only just met they're real...

E45 intense recovery lotion is great on really dry skin. I have been loving smothering it on my elbows and knees.

Brace yourselves Ladies and Gentlemen but I think I've found my perfect nude. Fleshpot by MAC is so gorgeous and glides on like a dream. If your near a MAC store, I would suggest going and giving this a little swatch, so that you too can swoon at it in all its glory.

I saw GlowJob  reviewed on Zoella's blog a while back and thought it looked really good. I liked the idea of the bronzing beads and the natural glow she claimed it gave.

NOTD #4 || Smokin Hot By Essie

I'm not usually the one for a grey nail polish, especially not in the summer. But when I was looking at the Essie stand last month, I just knew that I had to pick this colour up. When painting this on my nails I noticed there were some purple undertones, subtle, but really pretty. In the above pictures I have two coats of the polish, which left it opaque, and MUA's recent release top coat. I love how unique this colour is and I know I'll get a lot of wear out of it in the colder months. Hope you had a good bank holiday weekend!

NOTD #3 || king Tut's Gem by Jessica

As I rummaged through a box of nail polishes that I don't normally use, I discovered this Gem ( sorry, I had to) by Jessica. It's not a colour I would typically go for, I don't usually go for blues beyond mint, but I actually quite like it. The formulation is good, although not fantastic, as the colour goes opaque with two coats however within three days I have started to notice a few chips. In general, I really like this varnish but I don't know how easily I'll get annoyed with the super bright colour!

NOTD #2 || Do Me A Flavour by Leighton Denny

Today I decided I wanted to go BOLD on the nail front. Cue Do Me A Flavour. This gorgeous bright shade is the epitome of all oranges and perfect for summer. On formulation I cannot complain as it only took one coat to create a glossy, opaque colour and didn't take to long to dry however it did chip within the first three days. It would look perfect with a tan during the warmer months, if summer ever actually arrives.

What are your thoughts on orange nails?

NOTD #1 || Pillar Box by Topshop

On the nails

Polka dot heaven

As a huge fun of the Topshop makeup range (if you hadn't already guessed from past blog posts), I decided to try out some of the nail polishes. Believe it or not, until about a month ago I did not own any. It was only today that I put it on after weeks of  it sitting screaming to be used. My verdict...amazing. I couldn't believe that in as little as two coats a glossy opaque finish could be formed. The price, at only £5, and quality only add up to the fantastic-ness of this product.

You have to try these polishes (in particular Pillar box) or you are seriously missing out!
