A Suprising Bath || Golden Wonder by Lush

Happy New Year!

Now at this time of year everyone seems to be blogging about their New Year's Resolutions and their round ups of 2013 but I thought, instead, I'd write about a fantastical bath I had the other night. Because my life is just that interesting. I've never been one for the New Year's tradition as if there is something that you want to start doing then you might as well start it anytime you like, besides I always break my resolutions by the 2nd of January so I didn't see a lot of point. Back to the bath. I'm a bit of a YouTube addict and around November - December time there were many, many lush hauls in my subscription box. So as any Sheep does I popped off to Lush and chose the Golden Wonder bath bomb to go in my stocking.

Even though this isn't a particularly festive scent it reminds me off a citrusy, lavendery, extremely lovely smelling object (awful at describing as you can tell). I was expecting a golden bath but no, once the bomb (sorry I'm just in a Sherlock mood) hit the water it was clear this wasn't to be the case (still in a Sherlock mood). Eventually the bath turned turquoise with little golden stars appearing, floating then melting. If I was Sherlock I'd be able to work out how Lush made a turquoise bath from a golden bath ballistic, but alas, I'm just me.

If like a detective you see one of these in the Lush Christmas sales, I would recommend running over to the till to buy it.

p.s. Not trying to be too sentimental (I'm not good at that kind of thing anyway) but thank you for all your support this past year, it really does mean a lot.

Oh I Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday

Ho Ho Ho! Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year and it just wouldn't be right if I didn't share a snippet of my day here on my little blog. Presents were unwrapped and food was eaten before I had a chance to take any photos but I think the pictures above are an accurate representation of  my Christmas. I hope you all had a magical Christmas filled with chocolate *nibbles on gold coin*, festive films, slipper socks (a must) and spending time with your family.

Merry Christmas!

Meeting Fleur De Force

Today there is no time for my usual greeting as my happiness needs to be transferred into words before I shatter into a thousand over excited pieces. Whilst at the Clothes Show Live on Friday I bumped into the lovely, beautiful Fleur. It was such a surreal moment seeing her in the flesh after watching her videos for such a long time and I quite embarrassingly gushed at how much I loved them. Fleur was one of the first beauty YouTubers I ever subscribed to and her blog inspired me to start writing here. I know they say that you should never meet your 'idols' in real life, but Fleur is definitely an exception.

Liebster Award #3

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! I've been very fortunate to be nominated for the Liebster Award for the third time! The beautiful Stef from Scottish Stef's nails nominated me and you can see her post HERE. If i'm ever in need of some nail art inspiration i'm over at Stef's blog and i'd definitely recommend that you go and give her a follow!

Rules:
  1. Answer the 10 questions which your lovely  nominator has given you!
  2. Nominate 10 bloggers who have under 200 followers and link them in your post (I went via Bloglovin').
  3. Come up with 10 more cool and crazy questions for your nominees to answer!
  4. Inform your lovely nominees so they can do their responses!

Here are my answers:

Would you like to make YouTube videos?
I would actually really like to make them, and I have tried in the past, but my camera takes such bad quality videos (and pictures for that matter) that they wouldn't be worth watching!

Would you rather be chased by a horse sized duck or ten duck sized horses?
Probably ten duck sized horses because they'd just be like small dogs. A horse sized duck would be so scary!

What is your favourite nail polish?
I can probably whittle it down to my top two! I love Essie's Smokin' Hot which is a gorgeous charcoal colour and Topsop's Flying Saucer which reminds me of Parma Violets.

Why did you decide to start a blog?
I can't really pinpoint exactly why I started a blog but I was inspired by a lot of other bloggers such as Zoella, Sprinkle of Glitter, Couture Girl, Vivianna Does Makeup, Tanya Burr... need I go on! I loved the idea of having a little space of the internet where I could talk about anything I wanted! I never thought people would actually read my blog, I didn't even have put any gadgets on my blog so that people could follow until I had been writing it for a month!

What are your favourite TV programmes?
Since discovering YouTube I barely watch any television, but my favourite is definitely Sherlock!

Do you ever take part in the #bbloggers chats?
I try to on a Sunday and I love finding new blogs and just chatting to people who love makeup!

Which piece of technology do you use to write your blog?
I use my laptop!

Which three fashion stores do you shop at the most?
Well definitely Topshop! I'm not a big fan of shopping online but I do love ASOS Marketplace, particularly the We Are Hairy People boutique! I always see great Primark Hauls on YouTube but I never seem to much and I love Zara but it's quite expensive!

iPhone or Blackberry?
I own neither but I think an iPhone would be better, I'm not very good at typing so a Blackberry wouldn't be for me!

What are your favourite items of clothing at the moment?
I hope to do some outfit posts next week but I've been loving a midi skirt from Topshop that has a beach-y scenic print. I'm not explaining it very well am I? Oh, well!

My lovely nominees are:

Eleanor at Dream. Love. Live. Fashion
Beca at Those Moments of Serendipity
Sophie at Sophie Louise W
Jordan at Little Lace Bows
Ali at Alleyhope
Maddie at All the pretty things
Jess at Hello Sunshine
Katy at Giggles and Makeup
Charlotte and Tori at Flowers in the Watering Can
Rosie at Rosie Bea

My questions for you are:

Why did you start a blog?
Which is your favourite clothes shop?
Which is your favourite makeup brand?
Who was your first follower?
What is your favourite food?
How do you overcome bloggers block?
Who is your favourite YouTuber?
Would you like to make YouTube videos?
Which post on your blog are you most proud of?
Do you participate in #bbloggers chats?

Thanks for reading

Liebster Award #2

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! I've been lucky enough to be nominated for a Liebster Award for a second time! The lovely lady who nominated me was Katie from Curled Fantasies (you can read her post HERE). I love reading her blog and definitely recommend you go over a give her a follow!Shall we get started!

Rules:
  1. Answer the 11 questions which your lovely  nominator has given you!
  2. Nominate 11 bloggers who have under 200 followers and link them in your post (I went via Bloglovin').
  3. Come up with 11 more cool and crazy questions for your nominees to answer!
  4. Inform your lovely nominees so they can do their responses!

There are a few variations of this post going round, so these rules may be different to last time!

Katie's questions:

What is your all-time favourite nail polish? Brand and colour!
Probably Essie's Smokin' Hot which is a gorgeous charcoal with purple undertones! The wearability is great and the shade is really unique!

If I were to give you £100 what would you spend it on?
If I had to chose I'd probably spend half on We Are Hairy People T-Shirts! They're all hand painted and just generally lovely and I'd donate the other half to WaterAid (I'm feeling particularly generous today).

What is your favourite high street store?
Topshop hands down. Before we even get started on the makeup, the clothes are beautiful and I'll always be able to find something to buy when I'm in store! The jewellery is wonderful too, especially their necklaces. As we all know buy now, I love their lipsticks more than any high end brand and will recommend them to anybody that asks!

How would you describe your personal style?
This one's really tough! Say a monster ate a midi dress, baggy t-shirt, skinny jeans, statement necklace and spat it out, that's me.

Top beauty/styling tip?
In a Lilly Pebbles video I saw her apply red lipstick and then popping her index finger in her mouth so that the lipstick was on her finger rather than her teeth! I always do this now!

What’s your favourite film?
There is so many to choose from! I like a good film to get the emotions running and one of my favourite films has to be Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Have the tissues to hand if you watch this!

If you could visit anywhere in the world where would that be?
After watching Eat Pray Love, I really want to visit Italy, if only for the Spaghetti Bolognese!

What is your favourite meal?
Again a tricky one, probably Chicken Raisukuree from Wagamamas!  Just thinking about it now makes my mouth water!

Do you have any siblings?
I have a little sister called Lettie who has featured in a few blog posts and a younger brother.

What is your guilty pleasure? (This can be ANYTHING – food, tv, film…)
For some of you this will come as no surprise but I am a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge fan of Sherlock. Ooh I just love it. So much. No matter how many times someone tells me 'it's just a TV show,' I won't stop thinking about it (I'm still trying to work out how he survived)! I've been watching A Scandal in Belgravia all week, and if for some manic reason you live in the UK and haven't seen this fabulous programme head over to BBC iplayer now! *Please do not unfollow me because you think I'm a weird Sherlock obsessed person*

Where do you live? I love to know where my fellow bloggers are!
I live in a little country village in the south of England.

If you've got this far, well done! My lovely nominees are:

Nadia at The Girl Who Looks Like A Cake (most fabulous blog name ever, nuff said)
Lucy at The Little Blush
Ellie at EleanorSusan
Maddie at All The Pretty Things
Olivia at Olivia Always
Annie at Apple Toothpaste
Nafisah at Bamblings of Naffy
Michelle at BeautyBeamish
Anya at Crazylins
Claire at Desperate Blogwife
Dannii at What I Call Beautiful

My questions:
Why did you start a blog?
Who is your favourite blogger?
Who is your favourite youtuber?
What is the first thing you do when you wakeup in the morning?
If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?
What is your favourite high street beauty brand and why?
How long have you had a blog?
How often do you do blog posts?
If you could only buy one brand of makeup for the rest of your life, which would it be?
Where is your favourite place to shop for clothes?
Who inspires your clothing choices?

Review || Topshop Lipstick in Ohh La La

Topshop lipstick in Ohh La La, £8, Topshop

Hey guys, hope you're all well! Now we all know I love a good Topshop lipstick but this one really is beautiful. I am fully aware I just described a lipstick as beautiful but for Ohh La La, it fully deserves it. This could perhaps be the greatest lipstick that has ever graced my lips. If you haven't quite got the message already, I. Love. This. And below I shall tell you a hundred (slight exaggeration) reasons why!
Topshop claims 'Velvet finish lipstick to smooth, moisturise and nourish lips. Apply for fabulous colour and moisturised, matte finish, wear alone or with gloss for a shiny finish.'  I prefer this formula to their matte finish as I find it more hydrating and that it doesn't emphasise any dry bits on my lips. However, the staying power is still fantastic ( a good 3 to 4 hours before a top up) and the colour doesn't wear off too badly during eating and drinking. I tend to wear this alone and haven't yet found a lip liner that matches exactly, but I will have to explore Topshop's range further.

The colour is a gorgeous pigmented pastel pinky coral shade that isn't too bright to not be worn as an everyday lip colour but still stands out beyond a nudey pink. It has shot straight to my favourite lipstick spot (a highly coveted position) and will be worn nearly everyday of summer, I can already predict!

See you tomorrow

The Importance of Good Friends

So about four years ago I moved to a new school. I didn't want to. All my old friends were going off to this other school together and I would move, without them, to a place where I new nobody. But hey, that's life, I told myself. Move on. It takes a while to find good friends. It may just start off with a chat or a catching of an eye in lessons. It just happens. Anyway, I'd hope it would because I was a pretty weird eleven year old.

Fast forward a few years and we arrive at the present. From the pictures above, I can look and see that, yes, I have made some good, no, great friends. I wouldn't swap them for the world. A day at school wouldn't be complete without them. They except me, look out for me and will ALWAYS be there for me. And in a few years time, when we go are separate ways, there are some people I know I won't loose contact with. Will still have a laugh with. Friendship, it has been scientifically proven, is the key to happiness. And I guess that is why I am rarely sad.

Happy National Bestfriend day!
