Fairylights.

There's nothing (well there are a few things) I like more than curling up with a book, hot chocolate (yes, I know it's April) and my cat. In these lazy evenings I also like to light a scented candle (feeling like a real blogger here) and flick on the fairy lights. The ones pictured above are from Primark Home and just add a little somethin' somethin' to my room.

I'm in the midst of sorting out my dressing table at the moment and some little flower lights will look pretty hanging around the mirror, especially in the evenings. Also, when I was little I used to have some fairy lights around the headboard of my bed which I switched on when my dad read me Harry Potter, so they always remind me of that.

The Best of March

Hello, me again! Today I thought I'd share some of my favourite beauty products and random musings from the month of March. This month I seem to have rediscovered some old faves in terms of beauty products and have fallen in love with a TV show or two...

The Bourjois Colour Boosts were a big hit last summer with blogger after blogger talking about them, and although there have been many new releases since then, these two in Peach on the Beach and Red Sunrise (currently reduced on The Hut) are perfect for Spring. Another old favourite of mine is the Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara which is perfect for a 'no makeup' makeup look.

The Topshop Cream Blush in Flush is an everyday staple of mine and it's glowy finish is perfect for Spring. I like to use the Real Techniques Stippling Brush to apply this so that I don't look like I've just been for a run! Another Real Techniques favourite of mine is the Buffing Brush which works like a dream with liquid foundation.

Moving on to some random favourites, it's Mini Egg season which delights me no end! Sherlock will be mentioned is as many blog posts as possible (that is deemed sane) and although I've talked about it quite a few times this year I thought another little mention couldn't do any harm. I've also been watching the Vampire Diaries for the past few months and have one thing to say to you all. Damon Salvatore.

What bits and bobs have you been loving this March?

Bedtime Reading

It's been a while since I last shared my bogroll blogroll, so I thought that it'd be a grand idea to do so now. These four blogs are some of my favourite reads at the moment and I can guarantee that if you want a bit of wardrobe envy or just a good ol' chuckle, then these are the blogs for you.

Milk Bubble Tea
This blog is just a delight. The photography, chocolaty recipes, beautiful decor posts and of course not to forget to mention little Oscar, make it so. If you're ever in need of a pick me up, then this blog is the perfect read!

What Olivia Did
I. Just. Love. This. Girl. Never met her, might I add. Olivia seems (got to add that in-could be some random old man, but I doubt it) so lovely and I could quite happily spend a few hours getting lost in her beautiful, whimsical blog.

Student Life
Hannah writes like I think. A bit of Bridget Jones here, a smudge of chocolate there...And did I mention she is hilarious? Not smile then click off funny, actually laugh until someone looks at you funny. Big difference.

Rookie
There are other reasons to me loving to read Rookie other than my girl crush on  Tavi Gevinson. It's great for teenage girls although I can't really imagine a time when I won't read it (but then I would say that). I actually did a whole post last year dedicated to some of my favourite posts on there, and if I was writing that again I'd definitely add this one too.

What blogs do you love to read?

Conceal, don't feel

If there was an ever an opportunity to quote from Frozen...

My skin has been going through a blemish and under eye circle debacle of late and sometimes I just wish there was some sort of Harry Potter-esque spell I could use to make them go away. The next best thing being the concealers that have almost been tricking people into thinking I have good skin. Almost.

Rimmel Wake Me Up in Ivory
Described as having a 'radiant glow' this isn't really something you want to be using on any blemishes but for concealing  under the eyes this definitely does the job. It also lasts well during the day without creasing which I find to be an essential on my combination oily skin.

Collection Lasting Perfection in Fair
Everyone and their pencil case's pencil's sharpener has talked about this concealer so I'll keep it to a minimum. It does exactly what it says on the tin tube, is long lasting, high coverage and, on my skin, doesn't cake.

Bourjois Healthy Mix in Light Radiance
This particular concealer works well both under the eyes and on blemishes. I use this on slightly better skin days and, as it is slightly thicker, I find that it can crease after a few hours if applied liberally. This just means I end up using less whilst trying to perfect the Lisa Eldridge concealing  technique dab, dab...

Do you use any of these concealers?

Beauty Bits and Bobs

I'm not quite sure what it is at the moment but I just seem to be lusting after every new beauty release. And I mean every. single. one. My Bloglovin' feed is packed with countless beauty hauls, favourites and review posts. As well as the odd video persuading me that a Boots rampage wouldn't be that bad, would it? It's taken a lot of restraint to narrow it down to just these products for this not-so-little wishlist...

The first thing on my wishlist is a blush necessity. NARS are known for their highly pigmented wonders and the fact that I don't own one (Gina pictured) is a crime. Number two is the Una Brennan creamy cleanser, I've tried a few products from her skincare range and so far I have been pleasantly surprised how well they have performed, considering the price. I'm also lusting after the Bourjois Happy Light foundation as I'm running low on the Healthy Mix serum, another great base from the same brand.

Next up is the highly coveted Naked 3 palette which contains a pretty selection of neutrals and pinks. I've heard great things about the Bobbi Brown Corrector and as my under eye circles have been looking more like someone has smudged charcoal there recently, it's on my wishlist. Number six is the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in peach passion. I'm pretty sure that I would buy this lipstick for the packaging alone, but I already have Corail Incandescent from the same range and know that the creamy whilst long lasting formula is better than most I've tried.

Next on my hitlist wishlist is Benedict Cumberbatch. Enough said.

I'm also lusting over the Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Brush Set which has gained positive reviews from the likes of Lily Pebbles. Need I say more? Topshop's highlighter in Polished has been on my wishlist for months after many a positive review. I've heard this creates I lovely, well, glow to the cheeks without giving some odd sparkle or disco-ball-esque gleam.
